LYFE partners with many programs, agencies and organizations that provide valuable resources to student parents and their families.

Key Partners

Education Resources

• Co-op Tech – A NYC Department of Education vocational program that offers students hands on training in a variety of in demand and cutting edge trade areas
• Good Shepherd Transfer Schools – Small, diploma granting high schools serving students ages of 16 and 21, who have dropped out or become truant
• New York Public Library Adult Learning Centers – Free literacy program to help adults who have difficulties reading and writing
• Office of Adult and Continuing Education –  NYC Department of Education literacy education services with more than 900 tuition-free classes for adults age 21+
• Pathways to Graduation – A free NYC Department of Education program that supports students in earning their High School Equivalency Diploma
• Referral Centers for High School Alternatives – One-stop guidance centers where students can learn about high school options, High School Equivalency (HSE), and  support services that will help them graduate

Parenting Resources

• NYC Dads – Programs, resources and events geared to help fathers become more active in the lives of their children
• Young Mothers Dream – An organization that assists young/teen mothers ages 16-23 in completing their education through a one-on-one mentorship program

Social Services

• Administration for Children’s Services – NYC Children’s Services is the City’s agency responsible for child welfare, juvenile justice, and early care and education services dedicated to protecting, supporting and promoting the well-being of our City’s children, youth and families each and every day
• Center for Children’s Initiatives – Center for Children’s Initiatives (formerly Child Care, Inc.) champions the right of all children to start life with the best possible foundation of early learning, care and health.
• Department of Youth and Community Development – Funds a wide range of high-quality youth and community development programs
• Early Care and Education –  ACS’s Division of Early Care and Education (ECE) provides quality early education services to eligible children ages 6 weeks to 4 years old in center and family child care settings. In addition, eligible families with children ages 6 weeks to 13 years old can be issued vouchers to purchase childcare from providers in the City.
• Inwood House – Inwood House helps New York City teens to break cycles of poverty and become healthy, self-reliant adults
• Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs – Resource and referral information for services available to recently arrived immigrant children and families
• Nurse-Family Partnership – Maternal health program introducing vulnerable first-time parents to caring maternal and child health nurses.
• Young Men’s Initiative – Launched in August 2011, YMI continues to be the nation’s most comprehensive municipal strategy tackling the disparities faced by young men of color
